Initial planning

In this section, I will focus on planning of my music video, by choosing a right song and narrative , in order to convey the message behind it.
The song I have chosen to use for my music video, is very popular and well-known by a young generation, and generally people who are listening to R&B, Pop genre music. The song is called ''It a girl'' by Jason Derulo, who is well-known for his song ''Whatcha say'' or ''In My Head''.
There are number of reasons why I am going to use this song, such as:

• as soon as I decided to do a music video, I knew it will be in R&B, Soul, Pop genre music. As this is kind of music, I mainly listening to, and have any ideas about the way how the music videos are set, what special effect, camera movements, constumes, they use in order to match with the music genre and song of the lyric. 
• I wanted a male singer, because I already have a candidate (my best friend) who will play the protagonist within my music video
• this leads us to the idea of what my music video will be about, and because I have picked very romantic song, with the mix of slow and fast beats, which could represent the image of love in relationship. I decided that my music video will be about two love couples, showing the image of young love between two young people. 
• the video will be containing different locations, such as: in home, on the street, walking together, cuddling and kissing, everything that is associated with love and relationship. As well as by showing different locations, will make my video looks ''busy'' as well as interesting for the audience to watch.

The main aims are

1. to drag the audience attention and appeals to them
2. being creative; showing different locations, the love couples and how they express they love to each other, how does young people see the love, what love means to them, showing their human emotions and face expression which will links to the lyric of the song.
3. using different costumes for the couples, this means informal clothes, jeans, jacket= typical for young people, therefore easy for the audience to recoginise the teenager love or love between two young people
4. the audience will be able to see day lighting as the most of the scenes will be filmed outside, such as: streets, parks etc. The places in which young people spend the most of their times.

I believe that using conventions, will help the audience to understand the message behind the music video, and being familiar with it, as soon as they watch it. The main idea is to not confused them, or makes them think of the meanings of  the music video,  as this is something I don't want to represent in my music video. The reason why is because R&B, Soul music video's does not contains these features, as I would like to stay in professional line of production, by using conventions throughout the music video, which are typical for this genre of music. As well as I don't want to experimenting, and risk that the audience will not understand the music video, as it is likely that the audience might not like it if they wont be able to understand the context of it.
